The Uruguayan and Australian governments have created the "Work and holiday" program, a joint scheme, which encourages cultural exchange with the option to undertake short term work and study. You will have the opportunity to practise your Spanish and maintain your proficiency by being immersed in the culture. Details in the attached brochure. ![]()

We have just published a new Stage 5 Spanish unit on living a healthy life, which highlights the importance of good health and wellbeing. We have included COVID-19 content to ensure the unit relevant to students' worlds today. It's all available on our Stages 4 and 5 Spanish page.
The Spanish Teachers’ Association of NSW (STANSW) is the association that connects and represents Spanish teachers of NSW.
It is a non-profit organisation run by volunteers. The association is dedicated to strengthening and promoting the teaching and learning of Spanish at all levels of teaching – primary, secondary and tertiary. It also aims to promote the cultures of the twenty-two countries of which Spanish is the official language. Memberships are now open for 2021. $30 for full-time teachers and $20 for part-time teachers – if paid before 8 March 2021. For further information please contact Kati Varela, president of the Spanish Teachers’ Association. Dr Gianfranco Conti has released 7 new worksheets for Stage 5 level focusing on "Why I like my teacher", including vocabulary building, reading and writing activities – perfect timing!
ACARA has published Spanish work portfolios for Foundation-Year 10. Each portfolio contains annotated student work samples in relation to 3 achievement standards – satisfactory, above satisfactory and below satisfactory. The samples are authentic samples of student work and are available now.
