2018 is the year for familiarisation with the new K-10 language syllabuses for Chinese, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Spanish. It’s time to build our understanding of the structure, features and content of the new syllabus documents, and the implications for programming and assessment. This diagram explains the organisation of content in the new K-10 language syllabuses. We can see that there are 2 strands, 5 objectives and 8 or 9 outcomes (depending on the language), organised by Stage. These are underpinned by 3 values and attitudes. Over the coming weeks, we will be unpacking each of these features in more detail – stay tuned! |
