13/10/2021

The Languages K-10 syllabuses – familiarisation and planning eCourse is available to all teachers 7-10 from all sectors for Term 4 2021.

We have now published a full version of our eCourse which saves your progress and allows full online functionality – you'll be prompted to create a password. Please disregard previously published links. If you have any issues accessing the course, please email elisabeth.robertson@det.nsw.edu.au.

As you know, NESA has published 'Maintenance of accreditation transition arrangements' for 2021 and 2022. For anyone in their current maintenance of accreditation cycle (except if you started a new accreditation cycle from 29 November 2020), please note that all hours of Professional Development (PD) logged during 2021 will count towards your current maintenance of accreditation cycle, regardless of whether the PD is Accredited (previously Registered) or Elective (previously Teacher Identified Professional Development TIPD).

Note to language teachers K-6: The primary version of this course, Languages K-10 syllabuses - eCourse for primary language teachers, is still available on MyPL, course code NR31491. This course is only available to teachers working for the NSW Department of Education. For more details about the primary course, please contact Konnie (Konstantia.Zagrimanis2@det.nsw.edu.au) or Stephen (STEPHEN.NOGHER@det.nsw.edu.au).

Term 1 2020 statewide Adobe Connect – recording now available

20/2/2020

Yesterday we delivered our first statewide Adobe Connect session for 2020, with our games bonanza. We explored a variety of activities which bring fun to the classroom whilst developing language skills, and we even had a little interaction ourselves!

We think the live feedback from participants says it all…
Michelle: This has been an amazing session
Paola; Thank you for those great game ideas
Ilian: Thanks, that was interesting, fun and useful. Terima kasih banyak, Bu! :)
Phuong: Thanks so much. It will be very useful
Jenny: Fantastic session. Thanks Coreena. Some brilliant ideas I would like to adapt into my classes.
Brett: I will definitely be re-watching this with the pause button later.

Our plan is to develop a games and activity sharing space for all teachers to access. If you have any game ideas, videos, templates that your students enjoy and you are willing to share, please send them to Coreena Allen.

We hope you continue to enjoy our short professional learning sessions delivered via Adobe Connect – our Term 4 session on assessment has since had more than 600 views!

Thank you to the 55 language teachers who joined us live yesterday. If you were unable to attend, you can view the session recording. Files and games templates can be downloaded from the attachments below.

Next session: Feedback!
