University of Sydney seeks internship placements for preservice language teachers

University of Sydney is seeking placements for Master of Teaching Year 2 and Combined Degree Year 4 preservice teachers in the following languages:

Master of Teaching Year 2:
Chinese – 4
Period of placement: 3-21 May (15 days)
Remuneration: $510 per student
​
Combined Degree Year 4:
Spanish – 2
Korean – 1
Chinese – 3
Period of placement: 3 May to 4 June (25 days)
Remuneration: $850 per student     
 
Please contact the Office Secondary Professional Experience Coordinator at Univeristy of Sydney if you are interested in supervising preservice teachers.

A language position is available for an immediate start until the end of 2021, with a possible extension, at Peel High School in Tamworth.

Peel High School is a partially selective co-educational rural high school with a supportive head teacher responsible for languages.

This position is open to any language for Stage 4 classes in 2021.

The Hunter/Newcastle Language Teacher Network will hold its Term 1 meeting on Thursday 25 March. The agenda will cover:
- network and Languages and Culture team updates
- non HSC-style assessment tasks
- resource sharing

This is a face-to-face session, trialling a simultaneous online feed for those who can not come in person.

Position available – Richmond Agricultural College

Richmond High School (now also known as Richmond Agriculture College) is seeking a language teacher for a 0.5 teaching load, commencing Week 4, Term 2 and extending into 2022.

Currently the teaching load is French, but the school is open to the possibility of other languages, and of allocating a full teaching load if the successful applicant is interested.

Yesterday afternoon we held our Term 1 meeting for our Language Teacher Network – Virtual. Thank you to all those teachers who attended.

The recording and a PDF of the presentation are available in our statewide staffroom, for any members who would like to view. The session included an update of our projects and focused on adaptive challenges of language teachers.
