The position is with the Languages and Culture team within Secondary Education. The position will initially be located at Oxford Street, moving to Parramatta in May 2019. Registration is now open for Languages at Sydney: Go Global 2019, an initiative by the University of Sydney's School of Languages and Cultures. This event is catered towards students continuing with a language, as well as students who want to learn a language from scratch, as the event will give them a taste of the programs and languages that the University of Sydney has to offer. Events on the day will include an introduction to learning at the School of Languages and Cultures, discussions with university languages students, and two language-specific immersion sessions. Languages at Sydney: Go Global is for: - Year 12 languages students (HSC, IB, NSW School of Languages) - Year 12 students interested in studying languages at university - Year 11 and 12 languages teachers and careers counsellors. NESA has released new Stage 6 Extension course prescriptions for 2020-2024 for the following languages: - Arabic
Successful applicants will be required to attend training and/or writing days at our offices in Darlinghurst for up to 5 days. The writing teams will commence early Term 1 2019. The Languages and Culture team will provide release to attend training and/or writing days. Travel and accommodation costs may also be reimbursed, if required. This project will provide teachers with the opportunity to develop their capacity as a curriculum leader and may be used as evidence for higher levels of accreditation.
