Exciting news for teachers of Indonesian on the North Coast. Southern Cross Distance Education, in conjunction with the MLTA, will be holding a workshop for Indonesian teachers in the area on Friday 25 November 2016. The Language Participation Years 7-9 collection is currently open. The collection is due to close Friday 11 September. We encourage schools to complete the survey before the due date to ensure that any issues with the data or Signing Off can be rectified before the survey closes. Please Sign Off on the data collection website before COB Friday, 11 September 2015.
Important note: The LP 7-9 Collection is a separate survey from the ‘2016 BOSTES Languages Education Survey’ which schools have also been asked to complete this week. Chinese and Japanese: Adobe Connect K-10 Draft Syllabus Consultation on Monday 5 September 20162/9/2016 BOSTES is currently seeking feedback on the Chinese and Japanese K-10 draft syllabuses.
Details of the consultation, including draft syllabus documents, consultation meeting dates and links to online surveys are on the BOSTES website. The Languages and Culture team is holding an Adobe Connect session on Monday 5 September 2016 at 3:30pm. The session will review the key features of the draft syllabuses and highlight areas for teachers to consider when completing the relevant BOSTES survey. All languages teachers are invited to join the Adobe Connect to be provided with an overview of how the K-10 Languages Framework forms a basis for language-specific syllabus development. You can log into the Adobe Connect meeting room by using your DoE portal password on the following link: https://connect.schools.nsw.edu.au/secondarylanguages After the Adobe Connect session, teachers are encouraged to complete the BOSTES online survey to provide feedback to BOSTES. This consultation period closes on Sunday 11 September 2016. There is an online survey to complete via the BOSTES website until Sunday 11 September.
