Macquarie University seeks placements for preservice language teachers

Macquarie University is seeking placements for 2 final year students located in the South-West Sydney area in the following languages:
Chinese – 1 x 10 days
Modern Greek – 1 x 10 days

Dates to be negotiated directly between the supervising teacher and the preservice teacher. Remuneration for this placement is $330 per student.

In addition, there are also 4-5 students who need to do minor placements in EAL/D (x 10 days).

Languages statewide staff meeting

Language Teacher Network meeting – Central West NSW

The Language Teacher Network – Central West NSW will hold its Term 3 meeting on Wednesday 16 September. The meeting will focus on assessment for learning – sharing what we already do and how we can meet reporting outcomes; and games in the languages classroom. There will also be time to look at current tasks and make adjustments.

Correction – HSC oral examinations

The HSC oral examinations for languages are taking place across a range of venues, face-to-face. Student Confirmation Sheets, with details of venues, are available on Students Online.
A small number of students who do not have a face-to-face venue available to them will be examined online.
