Cross-sectoral Languages Education survey

30/8/2016

To support the NSW Government’s aim to boost the number of students studying languages, reliable baseline data about languages education is needed.

Principals of all primary and secondary schools across NSW have been asked to complete an online survey distributed by the Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards (BOSTES) on Monday 22 August 2016.

The survey must be completed online via the link sent to the Principal by 9 September 2016. The survey asks for information on student participation, types of languages programs and languages teachers. School postcode and sector information is collected but information about individual schools will be de-identified.

The information received will make an important contribution to planning for languages education in NSW.
It is important that you actively advocate for the collection of languages data from your school so that the survey can be completed and reliable data can be obtained.

Further inquiries should be directed to Kelli Cato at kelli.cato@bostes.nsw.edu.au
