Your feedback is now invited on proposed revisions to the Australian Curriculum. The consultation period is from Thursday 29 April to Thursday 8 July.

Feedback can be provided on:

- French
- Japanese
- Chinese
- Italian.

You can view the proposed revisions to the F-10 Australian Curriculum and provide feedback at the Australian Curriculum Review Consultation website.

If you only do one thing today...

Language teachers 7-12 in NSW public schools – if you only do one thing today, please check your notifications are correctly set up in our statewide staffroom in Microsoft Teams.

If you're not a regular user of Teams, go to the little circle at the top right, with your initials or your photo. Click on the circle, then select Settings, then Notifications, then set 'Missed activity email' to Daily. This way, you'll get an email once a day summarising anything you've missed. Note: You do need to be using the Teams app, not the internet version – you download the app from Microsoft Office 365 within the portal.

We're just finding many teachers are missing important dates or information because they're not using Teams regularly, so email notifications will help avoid this.

If you're a regular user of Teams, you've probably already set up notifications in a way that works for you.

If you haven't joined the statewide staffroom yet, please take our 1-minute entry survey, logging in with your @det email.

PS We know you actually have a million other things you'll need to do today, but we just wanted to get your attention. :-)

Selective Schools Language Conference

The Selective Schools Language Conference will be held this Friday, 23 April 2021.

If you teach at a selective or partially selective school and haven't yet received an invitation, please email elisabeth.robertson@det.nsw.edu.au if you would like to attend. Applications close 5pm this Wednesday (21 April).

University of Sydney seeks internship placements for preservice language teachers

University of Sydney is seeking placements for Master of Teaching Year 2 and Combined Degree Year 4 preservice teachers in the following languages:

Master of Teaching Year 2:
Chinese – 4
Period of placement: 3-21 May (15 days)
Remuneration: $510 per student

Combined Degree Year 4:
Spanish – 2
Korean – 1
Chinese – 3
Period of placement: 3 May to 4 June (25 days)
Remuneration: $850 per student

Please contact the Office Secondary Professional Experience Coordinator at Univeristy of Sydney if you are interested in supervising preservice teachers.
