Position Information: Warners Bay High School is a high performing comprehensive Years 7 -12 school with an enrolment of 1351 students including 33 Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students. The languages faculty is a small cohesive faculty which includes a head teacher languages. The faculty has an established history of implementing a range of extra-curricular and co-curricular programs.The successful applicant is expected to work a as contributing and effective team member to support the faculty to deliver quality language programs.
Specific Selection Criteria: Approval to teach French, Japanese and Chinese. Capacity to deliver engaging language lessons which meet Board of Studies Teaching and Educational Standards (BOSTES) requirements and meet the interests and needs of the full range of students. Capacity to teach students to achieve excellent HSC results in either or all of the above courses. Ability to differentiate the curriculum for gifted and talented students as well as to adjust the curriculum to cater for students with identified learning needs. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a contributing member of the faculty to organise and participate in extra-curricular and co-curricular initiatives. Excellent interpersonal skills and personal qualities. Knowledge of and demonstrated commitment to the NSW Department of Education Aboriginal Education policies. Proven ability to use information communication technologies (ICT) to extend and engage student learning in languages.
