Duties would commence on 27 January 2016.
Japanese Teaching load includes 4 x Year 7 classes for Stage 4 (Mandatory), and 1 x Year 10 for Stage 5 (Elective), plus Wednesday sport. You may also be required to teach a Stage 4 or 5 AH&G or English class to complete a full timetable load.
Glen Innes is a rural town of 6,500 situated on the New England Highway one hour's drive north from Armidale. The high school is a comprehensive co-educational campus. Teaching facilities are excellent, with a BER Language Centre, in-room computers and videoconferencing. The climate in Feb-March is very comfortable and the workplace environment is collegial and co-operative.
Private accommodation is available on a 'house-minding' basis with minimal outgoings and expenses. This opportunity would suit a teacher looking for a temporary change of scene, a taste of life in the country, or to save up a few extra dollars.
The Japanese teaching engagement would be only for Term 1, however this does not preclude the possibility of the school needing support in other KLAs later in the year, for suitable applicants.
