EOI – call for presenters for the Cross-sectoral Japanese Language Teachers' Conference 2020

The Cross-sectoral Japanese Language Teachers’ Conference 2020 will be held on Friday 28 August 2020 in Sydney and the Languages and Culture team is seeking presenters.

Focus areas for which we are seeking presenters are:​
- assessment, reporting and feedback – K-10
- Stage 6 assessment strategies [Japanese Beginners and Continuers]
- innovative and effective teaching and learning strategies
- engaging resources and activities
- visible thinking techniques
- engaging your school community with Japanese
- other.

Session brief:
- workshop sessions are 60 minutes
- Teachmeet sessions are 7 minutes to 15 minutes
- teachers may submit a joint EOI to present together.


All applications require the signature of the applicant’s current principal. Please complete the EOI form below, and email as a PDF to coreena.allen@det.nsw.edu.au by 5pm on Friday 28 February 2020.

This EOI form is for teachers from all sectors. 


Successful applicants will be notified by email by Friday 6 March 2020.

Bowral High School is seeking language teachers who have approval to teach Japanese and a willingness to teach English 7-10.

There are  two full-time positions for the 2019 school year, with the possibility of extension.

We are seeking teachers to present in a TeachMeet session at the NSW cross-sectoral Japanese Teachers' Conference 2018 who use the following online resources:
- Go Nihongo!
- Erin's Challenge
- Collaboratus: Waking up in Japan
- Asia Education Foundation online resources
- other.

Reminder: Call for presenters – NSW cross-sectoral Japanese Teachers' Conference 2018

The Languages and Culture team is seeking teachers of NSW public schools to present at the Japanese Teachers’ Conference, to be held on Friday 17 August 2018 at the Novotel Sydney Central.
 
The theme of the conference is Our practice, our passion.

Workshop themes for which we are seeking presenters include:
  • - new K-10 Japanese syllabus programming and assessment
  • - Stage 6 assessment strategies [Japanese Beginners, Continuers, Extension]
  • - Stage 6 course prescriptions [Japanese Extension and Japanese and Literacy]
  • - innovative and effective classroom teaching and learning strategies
  • - other.

​Please see attached form for further details.

Expressions of interest will be considered based on the alignment to current demands identified though the survey of teachers’ professional learning needs. Teachers may express interest in presenting more than one workshop. 

A friendly reminder that applications must be submitted by 5pm on Monday 7 May 2018.

Non-departmental teachers are also invited to present – please contact MWahlin@aisnsw.edu.au if you're at an independent school and would like to present.
