Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season with your family and friends. Our office will be closing from Monday 22 December for two weeks, and I will be taking leave until January 21 2015. I will check my email from time to time during the Christmas break, but may not be able to answer your enquiries.
Enjoy your well-deserved holidays! Sally I am an English teacher at four Junior high schools in Okawa Japan.
We would like to do a Japanese/ English letter exchange at first, with any high schools or schools with students 12 -18 years of age within New South Wales. Unfortunately we don't know of many schools that run a Japanese Program or how to find those that would be interested in a cultural exchange. Alternatively if there are students interested in Japanese but don't study and would like to converse, that would be fine as well. Please feel free to email me any interested parties or forward my email and details to any interested parties. We have also listed our schools on The Japanese Embassy website. Here is the link. http://www.jlgc.org.au/international-exchange-2/sister-school-exchange/australia-%E3%83%BBnew-zealand/ Thank you for your consideration. Kindest regards, Jake Pike. jake.pike@hotmail.com I have just finished my final year as a student teacher of Japanese at UTS. I now have interim approval to teach secondary 7-12 and would like to apply to teach casually at High schools. I am a native Japanese speaker who has been living in Sydney for over twenty years. The teachers at Kirawee High school, where I did my first practicum, recommended that I send you an email to see whether any casual/ relief staff is in need. I am attaching my CV. Thank you very much Eri Kato-Morcom ![]()
Thank you very much for your continued support of our centre.
Bookings for the centre for 2015 are now open. If you are interested in bringing your students or have any queries, please contact us. Please kindly note that our minimum number per excursion is 20 and the recommended maximum number is 32 for high schools and 36 for primary schools for safety reasons. We strongly suggest that schools who wish to bring more than the maximum number should consider whether further risk management is necessary. If your group is smaller than 20 students, we will try to find another school to combine. We have more chance to find other school if you give us sufficient notice when submitting your preferred date. We offer a 4 hour-programme, starting at 10 am finishing at 2 pm. We are willing to modify the time of the excursion based on your needs. I hope that you enjoy a well-deserved holiday. I wish you a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year. I am looking forward to seeing you in 2015. INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ARRIVING IN FEBRUARY 2015 Please read the summary profiles below of international students who are available to be hosted by a volunteer Australian host family.
Our international exchange students will be joining their Australian families on Feb 7th, immediately after a three-day residential orientation in Sydney. Their program lengths will be 3, 5 or 10 months. Students are supported by Local Coordinators and enrolled in schools by S.C.C.E. http://www.scce.com.au/international-student-profiles/ We have a student doing the Life Skills Program in Year 8 next year. He is an IM student. I was wondering if any other schools have a student doing Life Skills in Stage 4 and may have used a program or particular resources with their student(s). Thank you for your assistance.
