Improve your teaching skills or conduct research in Japan with The Japan Foundation's various major grant programs in the 2017-18 Japanese Financial Year.
Programs include:
-short term training
-long term training
-training program on a specific theme
-project based training program
-masters course
-language training for researchers

Narrabri High School is seeking a permanent teacher of Japanese. It is a coeducational, comprehensive school with an enrolment of 520 students, including 96 Aboriginal students, and is located in the north western plains of NSW. The Japan Foundation Centre visits

Have you been thinking about a great school excursion for your students?

The Japan Foundation, Sydney is offering free centre visits for school students in 2017. The Japan Foundation's centre visit program brings Japanese to life outside the classroom and makes for a great school excursion.

In 2016, over 1200 students visited The Japan Foundation's centre for language and cultural workshops and film screenings.

Lessons are tailored and run for approximately one to two hours. Teachers can choose from a wide range of lesson topics and activities and The Japan Foundation can work with teachers to create a program relevant to their students' interests and level of proficiency. 


The centre visit program is free and will run on every school day in 2017 however bookings are essential. As dates fill fast, make sure you book in early! Further information can be found and bookings can be made by visiting The Japan Foundation Sydney website.

2017 JLTAV Annual Conference

Dear Sensei-gata,
Expressions of Interest are invited from teachers and other educational stakeholders who would like to present at the 2017 JLTAV Annual Conference, to be held on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 April at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. To ensure a varied program across the two days each Expression of Interest will be reviewed by a panel and successful applicants will be contacted by the end of January.
