Japanese Language Speech competition

30/5/2017

The Japanese Language Speech competition will be held at the University of Sydney on Saturday 16 September 2017, commemorating The University of Sydney's 100th anniversary.

Students of Japanese language have been coming together to showcase their Japanese skills in this speech competition since 1969.

The new high school Wakaba division continues and invites students enrolled in Stage 4 Japanese, Stage 5 Japanese and Stage 6 Beginners Japanese to participate in the contest using their creativity and level-appropriate Japanese. The main objective is to provide an opportunity for beginners to take part in an official Japanese language event in the community. We hope it will be a wonderful opportunity for them to meet students from other schools with the similar interest.

There will be many activities to participate in during lunch time, such as costumes and furoshiki wrapping.

Please promote this speech contest to your students. Catering will be provided.

All students will receive a certificate and participation prize. The 1st and 2nd prize winners from high school  division (except for Wakaba division) will progress to the National Contest to be held on
Saturday 7 October in Sydney.

Further information and the application form can be accessed below.
Please note that all applications must be received by mail.
Further information can be found at MJS Centre website.
We look forward to meeting you and your students at the contest!!  Thank you for your support!
Kind regards,
Tomoko Koyama
