Second Australia-Japan Relations Essay Contest for NSW and NT Secondary School Students

27/5/2015

I am pleased to inform you that the contest is now open and all details have been posted on the Consulate website.

The contest's aim is to encourage an understanding of Japan and Australia-Japan relations among NSW and NT secondary students, including Year 7 students at primary schools in the NT. Last year marked the inauguration of this new competition and we received many interesting essays from across both states. The Consul-General is looking forward to the same calibre of entries this year.

The contest will be held slightly earlier this year, and as always, it is open to all students, not only those studying Japanese language. Submissions close on Thursday 20th August 2015.

We will be emailing information to some schools that have had recent contact with the consulate and/or previously entered the contest, but we are keen to get the information out to as many schools and teachers as possible.

We will also be sending information by post to high school principals and municipal libraries in the near future, but we would greatly appreciate your assistance in distributing this information.

A letter from the consul in charge of the contest, a flyer and the entry documentation are attached. Entry guidelines and essay cover sheets are also available for download at www.sydney.au.emb-japan.go.jp
