Save the date and survey of PL needs – NSW Japanese Teachers' Conference 2018

The Japanese conference, Our practice, our passion, will be held on Friday 17 August 2018 at the Novotel Sydney Central, 169-179 Thomas Street, Sydney.  
 
The conference is for Japanese teachers K-12 from all education sectors, including preservice teachers. It is a valuable opportunity for teachers to unite, network and share teaching practices and innovative ideas. 
 
In order to ensure the conference meets your professional learning needs, we'd like your feedback. Please complete the survey at: www.surveymonkey.com/r/2018JapaneseConference by Friday 13 April.

The survey also includes a section to register your interest if you would like to share your expertise in a workshop and/or TeachMeet session. 
 
Please find a "Save-the-date" flyer attached for you to print as a reminder. Stay informed on Languages NSW http://www.languagesnsw.com/ for more details about registering for the conference in Term 2. ​

Seeking Japanese/French teacher for 4 days/week – Camden Haven High School

​Camden Haven High School is seeking a Japanese/French teacher to work 4 days/week, from Term 2 until the end of  2018.

The applicant will be required to teach distance education students, however, experience in this mode of delivery is not required.

Reminder – urgent call for papers for 2018 National Symposium on Japanese Language Education

The deadline for submission to present is Sunday 8 April.

The 2018 biennial National Symposium on Japanese Language Education, will be held at University of Technology Sydney (UTS) on Friday 2 November and Saturday 3 November in Sydney.
​
The Japan Foundation, Sydney, is seeking presenters who have research, a study or a program to share at the symposium. Educators from all levels of education, primary, secondary and tertiary are encouraged to apply.

Submissions can be in English or Japanese.

Urgently seeking practicum placements

Macquarie University have a number of students who are urgently seeking practicum placements in Japanese.

Placements are available in a combination of substantial blocks and weekly visits and are ideally one hour travel from the home. Details of the students are listed below:
- 4th year female student based in Merrylands needs 60 days practicum placement (in a secondary school that is preferably near the Western train line)
- 4th year female student based in Campbelltown needs 60 days practicum placement in a secondary school.
