VHS tapes Cassette tapes 6 boxes of Nihongo Daisuki videos (VHS) Worksheets to accompany Kimono 1 & 2 (4 folders worth) Dolls Realia Books (old text books, dictionaries, etc.) and loads more. They are old but if a school is starting up Japanese, they may be of some use - it seems a shame to throw it out. Someone will need to come and pick it up over the next couple of weeks. Please contact Ayumi directly via email. ayumi.dalpadado@det.nsw.edu.au If you registered for Big Bento Lunch through our website and haven't yet received a confirmation email and registration number, please register again. Our registration form is now working (we triple checked!) and everything is working smoothly. We apologise for any inconvenience. Thank you to everyone who has registered so far. We're aiming to raise more than $5,000 for the Save Minamisoma Project, which for the past three years has been delivering fresh food and clean drinking water to people who have been displaced by the earthquake and tsunami, and the radiation from the Fukushima nuclear power plant. There are still about 7000 people – including more than 300 children – living in temporary housing in Minamisoma. The vast majority of these people used to live within 20km of the power plant and therefore are unable to go home for the foreseeable future. Your support will mean a great deal to them, and to the Save Minamisoma volunteers, as funds are getting more and more difficult to raise three years on. More information is available at the Big Bento Lunch website www.bigbentolunch.com.au (now incorporated into the JETAA Vic/Tas/SA website), or on our Facebook page. Excursion 1st April 2014 Thank you very much for your continued support. We are looking for a Year 10 group on 1st April to join another school. The minimum number of students per excursion is 20. If you have a Year 10 class smaller than 20, this would be a great opportunity for your students to meet other school's students and share learning experiences together in our centre. We always receive positive feedback from teachers and students after combined excursions. Please let us know at your earliest convenience if you are interested in bringing your students. Holiday Workshops in April Thank you very much for your enquiries about the April workshops. Please refer to the file attached for detailed information. Please fill in the registration form (page 4) and send it back to us to secure your students' places. We would be grateful if you could fill in the form electronically, if possible. Visit our centre If you are planning to bring your students to our centre this year, please contact us and book your visit. We are very much looking forward to seeing you. I'm trying to think of ways to get the interest going again. I'm interested in ideas teachers might have to help enthuse the kids. My students suggested an anime club. Are any other schools running clubs? How are they organised? What kinds of clubs?
Thank you in advance Melissa Pol melissa.pol1@det.nsw.edu.au |
