A Canadian-born, Osaka-trained rakugoka (or rakugo performer), Katsura Sunshine learned the Kamigata style of rakugo popular in the Osaka area from the master Katsura Bunshi VI. Rakugo is a traditional Japanese storytelling technique, and is still immensely popular today.
As part of his tour, Katsura Sunshine will be giving an exclusive workshop to Japanese students and teachers in Sydney, giving them the chance to learn about this traditional Japanese comedy craft, and experience their very own rakugo routine!
