Part-time maternity leave position - Indonesian bilingual program - Scotts Head Public School

Scotts Head Public School is seeking a part-time Indonesian teacher for their bilingual program, starting Term 4, 2013.



Selection Criteria

Approval to teach Indonesian and native speaker proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia. Approval to teach K-6. Capacity to incorporate information communication technology and innovative teaching ideas. Willingness to work as a bilingual team member and to liaise with classroom teachers to develop quality teaching programs across key learning areas within a K-6 setting. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff, parents and community.

Position Information
Scotts Head Public School is a small school situated in the coastal village of Scotts Head on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales. The school structure consists of three multi-stage classes and a straight Kindergarten. The school has an enrolment of 93 students, 15 of whom are Aboriginal. The Bilingual teacher teaches classes across a number of key learning areas in Bahasa Indonesia. This is the fourth year the program has been running.  This program delivers the regular curriculum for 45 minutes a day in Indonesian and creates links with our Asian Neighbours. This is the first step in expanding the minds of our students who will be able to engage in future global environments, be global citizens that can also act locally.

Special Notes
This is a temporary, part time position for 2 days per week 0.4 FTE (Full time equivalent) (maternity leave position) for Term 4, 2013 and 4 days per week 0.8 FTE (Full time equivalent) (maternity leave position) for Term 1, 2014 with the possibility of extension.
