Evans River Community School is a K-12 school with an enrolment of 550 students, including 17% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, and services a community experiencing a high level of socio-economic disadvantage.
The school opened in May 2000 and has a strong sense of community. A committed, cohesive and experienced staff is supported by an active school community. The school is located approximately 30km south of Ballina.

Selection criteria
Approval to teach Indonesian and/or skills and experiences in Yr7-10 HSIE with well-established classroom management skills.
- Demonstrated willingness to understand the needs of, and develop the potential of students in a K-12 setting, particularly students with special needs.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students with quality teaching.
