New materials for Indonesian 100 hrs course

Open High has won a grant to develop learning materials for the Indonesian 100 hours course.
 
It will be a sequenced blend of online and print materials, and will be available to Australian schools.

Extension and Background Speakers Prescriptions Survey - nominations for Indonesian needed

The Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards NSW (BOSTES) is still seeking further text nominations for the 2019–2023 Higher School Certificate course prescriptions for both the Languages Extension courses in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Modern Greek and Spanish as well as the Background Speaker courses in Chinese, Indonesian, Japanese and Korean.

Year 12 Speaking Day 2015

'Year 12 Speaking Day 2015' yang diselenggarakan oleh ILTA/MLTA NSW berjalan dengan sukses dan dihadiri oleh 30 siswa kelas 12 yang belajar Bahasa Indonesia (Beginners, Continuers dan Extension), 8 orang guru dan 6 mahasiswa dari Macquairie University dan the University of Sydney. Para siswa dan guru yang datang berasal baik dari sekolah-sekolah di metroplitan Sydney maupun dari Camden, Woolooware dan Nowra. 

Tahun ini acara Y 12 Speaking Day ini diadakan di Burwood Girls High School - terima kasih kepada Ibu Lauren Dwyer yang sudah menjadi 'tuan rumah'. Para siswa senang sekali bisa menggunakan Bahasa Indonesia dalam siatusi nyata dan berkenalan dengan mahasiswa Indonesia dan sekaligus bisa melatih ketrampilan mendengar dan berbicara untuk HSC Oral Exam yang akan datang. Respons dari siswa sangat positif dan bahkan beberapa siswa tidak mau berhenti berlatih sampai waktu makan siang. Saya mengucapkan terima kasih yang sebesar-besarnya kepada para guru yang sudah meluangkan hari Sabtunya untuk datang dan mengantar siswa-siswanya, juga yang sudah membawa makanan kecil dan kue-kue yang lezat serta buah-buahan yang menyehatkan dan sudah membantu panitia sehingga acara ini berhasil dengan lancar dan baik. Kami juga mengucapkan terima kasih untuk relawan - para mahasiswa Indonesia yang sudah membantu membuat suasana santai dan menyenangkan.

Tahun depan mudah-mudahan kami dapat mengadakan acara seperti ini lagi dan kami harap lebih banyak siswa dan guru yang hadir supaya mereka mendapat kesempatan untuk berkenalan dengan siswa-siswa lain, dan bercakap-cakap dengan mahasiswa serta mempersiapkan diri untuk HSC Oral Exam dengan guru-guru yang berpengalaman dalam suasana yang hangat dan informal.

Looking for Indonesian language teacher to teach adult evening classes in Sydney CBD, starting soon.

About our classes:

- adult learners, small class sizes

- one evening per week x 10 weeks from 6-8pm

- no student assessment

- short, fun, practical classes based on textbook, provided to the tutor

Tutor requirements:

- experienced language teachers preferred

- school teachers are most welcome to apply

- Tertiary qualifications in a related background also considered

- high energy and enthusiasm for the language

- ability to engage adult learners with an interactive and dynamic teaching style
