Flexible School Tour Packages
Building on ACICIS Study Indonesia’s extensive experience as a provider of quality in-country language programs, the school tours are designed to provide high-school students of Indonesian language with an opportunity to learn through immersion in Indonesian everyday life. Flexible tour packages are offered for 5, 7, 10, 12 and 14 day durations based in Yogyakarta, Central Java. Tour itineraries are not fixed, rather schools will work with ACICIS’ Tour Program Officer to tailor an itinerary to suit their needs. Key tour components include:

  • * Indonesian language classes and tutorial activities at Sanata Dharma University,
  • * Field trips and school visits,
  • * Local style accommodation.

Language Classes
The language classes are held at the Lembaga Bahasa (Language Institute or LB for short) of Sanata Dharma University, Yogyakarta. All language instructors are native speakers with  extensive experience in teaching students at all levels of Indonesian language competency – from complete beginners to advanced students.
Students will also be provided with at least three hours per week of one-on-one tutorial work with a local university student tutor.

Field Trips and School Visits
Field trips include a variety of structured learning activities along with a number of general sight-seeing trips. Options include visits to Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko temples, art, dance, batik and cooking workshops, and a tour of Mount Merapi.
School visits can be organised to a Yogyakarta middle or high school and include a series of activities with the Indonesian students and teachers.

Safety
ACICIS has a comprehensive risk management plan for Yogyakarta that is regularly updated.  ACICIS maintains offices in both Yogyakarta and Perth staffed 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday, and ACICIS personnel in Indonesia and Australia are available at any time in case of an emergency whilst tours are in progress.

Costs
Tours cost between AUD$1,042 and AUD$2,176 (land costs only) depending on the length of tour and size of the group.

ACICIS has a tailored poster and flyer for its school tour services available for download on the ACICIS website. We are happy to supply you with printed copies of these materials for display around school or to hand out to students if required. Please just let us know if you would like us to send you some of these materials.

If you are interested in ACICIS Study Indonesia helping to plan your school tour, please contact the ACICIS Secretariat on 9360 6254 or by email acicis@murdoch.edu.au.
