have extensive experience teaching Indonesian as well as working for many years as a linguist with the Department of Defence in Canberra.
To give some context, I taught Indonesian at Brighton Secondary School, and then numerous others, in Adelaide from 1994 to 2003. I have taught from year 8 to 12 and have incorporated such cultural aspects as cooking, batik, dance, gamelan (at Flinders Uni Pendopo) and silat.
I have maintained a defence language level rating of 3 over my nine years as a linguist in Canberra and have had extensive in-country training in Indonesia and Malaysia.
Aside from work opportunities, I am happy to come and talk to senior classes about my experiences using the language in the workforce. Please feel free to contact me via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or via phone on 0402 003 722.
