The Greek Diaspora Fellowship Program (GDFP) is a scholar exchange program for Greek universities to host Greek scholars from the diaspora in the areas of collaborative research, curriculum co-development and/or graduate/undergraduate student mentoring and teaching. The GDFP is funded by a grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) to the Institute of International Education (IIE).
The GDFP supports 14 to 90 day visits by the Diaspora fellow to a Greek AEI or ATEI to pursue the aforementioned activities. Fellowship recipients will receive a 150 USD per day stipend, roundtrip airfare, a project materials allowance, supplemental health insurance and visa costs (if applicable).
To be eligible, an individual must:
(1) have been born in Greece or Cyprus or hold Greek or Cypriot citizenship
(2) live in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa or the United States
(3) hold a terminal degree in their field and
(4) be employed at an accredited college or university.
Applications are currently accepted until 31 July 2019 for projects to take place in 2020.
