Since this is our final week of the school year, I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for your hard work and service in delivering Greek Language learning for approximately 5,000 students across NSW.
We have had a strong year. The Certificate of Attainment in Greek 2017 showed improvement in the results which was so encouraging. HSC participation in Modern and Classical Greek was also very strong.
While all schools have been very busy with teaching and learning, extensive work has been undertaken by the seconded teachers of Greek Language in cooperation with the accredited teachers of the DoE to achieve such a great result!
It has been my privilege to visit different types of schools this year and to see great teaching and learning in practice. From preschool units to tertiary education, I have to acknowledge the wonderful outcome! Some snapshots of the year: the proud presence of our students to the Greek National Days, their amazing performances of Greek dancing in so many occasions, the wonderful participation and winning of the 1st and 3rd prize to the 7th Greek Student Film Festival, the educational days for the teachers, all the cultural school events and so many more.
Thank you for making all the days count in this long year of learning. I hope the upcoming holiday period presents an opportunity for fun and festivities, rest and renewal. Stay well, be safe and prepare for the great challenges of 2018 that lie ahead.
