The valley of Tempe

Ιn the valley of Tempe, they say
there was an old Plane Tree
which was the greatest fear of all train drivers.
The tree, they say, was madding and lonely
It drunk, they say, the sacred river’s muddy water
and spread it’s roots into the deep ground.
And everytime he got upset, they say,
It fell on the railway lines
and pulled the train’s ear off
saying: “You won’t be passing Gevgelija”
I have been told this story
by the garrulous river Peneus
who told me his secret:
This old Plane Tree used to be an Old Man
whose children had emigrated in foreign lands…

Picture

-Μύτες απ'έξω και μέσα γωνίες;

In the country of circles, one triangle appeared..
-How foolish does he look!
-He has bits that are fat and bits that are thin!
-He has got corners in and corners out?
-Not even one curve, just straight lines!
said a circle with a hat, pink shoes and purple jacket.
and the others who heard him did not disagree.
Someone holding a cigar big as a  barrel said that "There is no room for foreigners, what does he want here?"
- Our dearest Circle-Country has become a fenceless yard!

And they all gathered to talk and try to find a solution
- Out of the country! Leave! We have enough friends already! You are not even a simple curve!
Someone wearing googles said: We all know Geometry, and everyone knows that all shapes have equal value!
-Nonsense! The others said!
Listen to me, you will not convince me, you'll not change me I am a circle! the bubble started shouting out.

-Come everyone here to see! Something brand new begins for everyone! Triangles, rhombus and all shapes have started a dance!
-Play instruments in any shape, says the bubble around shouting and embraces a triangle.
They sand, and danced and played and decided not to live separate again
since everyone has got something to offer to one another ...
