29/8/2015

The impressive short video that is presented below depicts life in Minoan Crete. It shows aspects of the Minoan culture that flourished as a maritime power from 27th century to the 15th century BC.

Particularly, it shows the naval power of the Minoans and exceptional representations of bull-leaping (also taurokathapsia, from Greek ταυροκαθάψια). It also explains the end of the Minoan civilization as an outcome of the eruption of the volcano in Thera (Santorini) about 1600 BC.

This video is an excerpt from the documentary of BBC, "Atlantis: The End of a world the Birth of a Legend".
