9/4/2014

Please see below for a request from Associate Professor Lesley Harbon from Sydney University

We are looking to fill a secondary modern Greek languages practicum placement to begin after the Easter holidays. It is important that we support our pre service teachers and encourage them in the teaching of Modern Greek.

The suburb listed is where the student is based, however our placements acknowledge the fact that students may travel up to 2 hours each way to their placements when a school kindly makes an offer. The student's name is Natasha Morfitis.

Contest for Greek students abroad

3/4/2014

The Department of Diaspora and Intercultural Education in Greece announces an international students' contest with the topic: "Routes of Light- El Greco"

Students of Greek Schools abroad can follow El Greco's route from Greece to Italy and Spain, and discover the influence of light as well as it's transformation in his work.
Then, students of all stages are asked to create a piece of art (any mode they find most appropriate i.e painting, sculpture, photography, poetry, music, literature e.t.c.) expressing the impact of El Greco's work on themselves.
The main goal is for students to be familiarised with the use of "light" in his work and realize the social and artistic influence of every country he visited.

Students can participate either individually or in groups and should be conducted within the school class and not in the form of homework. Students' work signed with their names should be submitted to the school's Principal until Friday the 9th of May 2014, and must be accompanied by their school's details (name, postal address, telepnone).
