The NSW Department of Education is seeking NSW public school teachers to present at the upcoming German conference: Wohin geht die Reise?

Your contribution can take various forms, for example presenting:
  • - go-to teaching and learning activities that are consistently engaging and effective
  • - a task-based unit of work that has worked well
  • - a unit of work you have programmed and delivered with another KLA
  • - expertise you have gained as an HSC marker (you might wish to collaborate with others in providing an overview of different sections of the exams)
  • - an initiative you have undertaken at school that raised the profile of German
  • - how you’re collaborating with your partner/feeder schools to create and/or sustain continuity in learning.

The NSW Department of Education will either pay one day’s relief for presenters to prepare their presentation or reimburse conference participation costs to presenters’ schools.

If you are interested, please email a one paragraph presentation proposal to Michelle Walls by Friday, 10 March 2017.

Start the school year by networking, collaborating and learning! The Goethe-Institut and AISNSW will be running a German workshop on the 7th March at AIS. The focus of the workshop is on using music and ICT to engage students and enhance German language outcomes.

In this interactive and hands-on workshop, German-born and Barcelona-based musician and educator Carsten Galle introduces how to combine German language learning with the use of music and innovative technology such as iPads, smartphones and Nintendo Wii. During a day of sharing and showcasing strategies to engage, motivate and cater for the range of learners in your German classes, you will have time to explore and share various strategies and various creative approaches.

Musician and co-founder of the Institute for Advanced Technologies in Music and Arts in Barcelona, Galle has been organizing workshops and events with the Goethe-Institut and with several educational institutions worldwide and truly is an expert in his field.
This is a BYOD workshop.

7 March 2016, 9am-3pm
