The NSW Department of Education, in collaboration with the Association of Independent Schools and the Goethe-Institut Sydney will be hosting the German Teachers' Conference Blick in die Zukunft on 22 March 2019. The conference will focus on programming the new German K-10 syllabus, task design in Stage 6 and discussion around the new HSC Extension prescribed test. There will also be presentations on the support available to German teachers and students and an update on current events in Germany. The conference addresses standards 2.1.2, 2.3.2, 6.2.2. The cost of attending the conference is $240 and further information regarding the event can be found here. Registration for the event closes on Friday 15 March. Applications for travel and accommodation subsidies for rural and remote teachers from NSW public schools are now open for teachers 7-12 wishing to attend the German Teachers' Conference in Sydney. The details and requirements are outlined below.
Authority to travel Your travel must be approved in advance by the principal, and the appropriate form or online application must be completed. What costs are covered? Rural and remote participants should make all travel arrangements for flights, hire car or long-distance train or bus travel through their school’s office/P-card. Participants should select the most time- and cost-effective method of travel to the German Conference at the Goethe-Institut, 90 Ocean Street Woollahra. Expenses related to private vehicles such as petrol will not be reimbursed and meals are also not reimbursed. To apply for travel and accommodation subsidies, please contact Maxine Acosta. The 2019 NSW cross-sectoral German Teachers’ Conference Blick in die Zukunft will be held on 22 March 2019 at the Goethe Institut, 90 Ocean Street Woollahra. The event focuses on: - programming the new K-10 German syllabus - task design in Stage 6 - discussions on the Stage 6 German Extension course prescriptions.
