A French teacher is required with a 0.5 French teaching load with an additional subject of either, English, History or Science to fill a permanent vacancy at Tumbarumba High School. Teaching load in 2016 would include 3 stage 4 French classes (combined year 7/8) , a stage 5 (combined year 9/10) French class and a daily French reading program in the morning (total of 0.5 French teaching) with the option to complete the load with English, History or Science up to a full load.
The school has demonstrated a commitment to French with a study tour in 2012 and 2014 to New Caledonia and the hosting of a French assistant in 2013. Classes are taught in stages with a stage 5 elective class running every year since 2011. The school has a heavy focus on literacy development as a 21st Century transferrable skill, and an ability to use data meaningfully would be viewed positively.
Further information about the position and living in Tumbarumba can be directed to the relieving principal, Fiona Jackson, on 6948 2500.
