Residential French Immersion Youth Program 2018

29/11/2017

La Maison de Ste. Claire (in far northern NSW) offers Residential French Immersion YOUTH Programs catering for students from beginners to advanced levels. The programs are fully residential and supervised, not requiring the attendance of parents/carers or teachers.

The program is available for students who are currently studying French at school, either for Beginners, Continuers and/or Extension courses, or equivalent VCE and IB Diploma programs. This program is designed by Gilles Berger, PhD, and all teachers are highly experienced and well trained in français langue étrangère (FLE) or French as a Foreign Language. All members of the team have completed the relevant working with children checks.

Students from schools throughout Australia have lessons together and the program coordinators make direct contact with parents and class teachers.

Our programs cover all language skills and engage students with authentic language experiences as well as working with past examination papers. NSW HSC Extension students are also extensively prepared for the current prescribed text, Neuilly sa mere!.

The immersion program is suitable for all students who are committed to high achievement in French.

Immersion programs are also available for students in Years 8, 9 and 10. Courses for school groups are also available, including an online program is also available to schools.

For more information, including course dates and costs, go to the la Maison de Ste. Claire website.

Tara - schooner for the planet - Tour and workshop at the Australian Maritime Museum

7/8/2017

The Australian National Maritime Museum is delighted to offer students of French a rare excursion opportunity.

Program: 45 minute tour of vessel plus 45 minute workshop looking at marine science - an ideal cross curricular experience. The tour and workshop are designed for Year 5 to Year 10 students, but students of all ages are welcome.

Dates: Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd August

Times: Available from 10 am to 1pm for a 90 minute visit

A flyer on the Tara and its work is attached for your information.

There are only limited places available and bookings are essential.

Please call Australian National Maritime Museum Bookings on  (02) 9298 3655.
