Once again The Alliance Française, Sydney, in collaboration with the Association of Independent Schools and the NSW DoE is holding a 2 day professional learning event for teachers of French. The title of the course is Carnet de vacances : vers de nouvelles découvertes ! and it will be held at the Alliance Française, Sydney on the 29th and 30th September, 2016.
This year’s course is focussing on teaching strategies for Stages 4 and 5.
Participants in the course will:
· Enhance their French language skills through immersion
· Extend their professional network
Update their pedagogy and develop engaging classroom activities using Art and Drama to motivate Stage 4 and 5 students.
Update their knowledge about France’s current affairs
Learn more about the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and the DELF/DALF certification.
Have an opportunity to share our diverse, innovative practices through a fun ‘speed teaching’ activity!

Venue: Alliance Française de Sydney, 257 Clarence St, Sydney, 2000
Cost: $120 for 2 days (includes morning tea and lunch on both days)
Australian Professional Standards for teachers:
2.1.2 – Apply knowledge of the content and teaching strategies of the teaching area to develop engaging activities
3.4.2 – Select and/or create and use a range of resources, including ICT, to engage students in their learning
6.2.2 – Participate in learning to update knowledge and practice ,targeted to professional needs and school and/or system priorities
6.3.2 – Contribute to collegial discussions and apply constructive feedback from colleagues to improve professional knowledge and practice
Accredited hours: 10 hours accredited Professional learning on completion of the 2 days
