Bac Blanc 2017 examinations workshop information
As announced at the NAFT conference, the gathering of contributions for the Bac Blanc 2017 is now underway.
Supply of material before the day means that all documents can be assessed and allotted to a smaller working group to refine on the actual day of the Bac Blanc workshop.
The Bac Blanc workshop will again take place at SCEGGS Darlinghurst, 215 Forbes Street, DARLINGHURST.
The date is week 4, Saturday 25th February from 8:30am till 5:00 pm, extended in time by request.
Wherever possible attendees should car share or preferably use public transport to the Bac Blanc Workshop as parking spaces are severely limited in Darlinghurst and are mostly paying. Kings Cross station is less than 5 minutes walk and both Oxford and William streets are abundantly serviced by buses.
Be sure to bring YOUR OWN MUG as paper/plastic cups will NOT be provided. SCEGGS is making a strong effort to be more environmentally respectful as a school goal.
Please note : This day is NOT the Saturday of the Mardi Gras.
We would ask you to submit your contribution clearly marked with:
• Your name
• The section of the examination eg Continuers’ RRA / HSC Beginners’ Listening
You need to submit:
• Text in WORD
• Question(s) and Mark value
• Marking Guidelines (no need to use BOSTES style formatting)
Also, we ask that you DO NOT FORMAT in any way because undoing of formatting can be troublesome and time-consuming and our papers already have established formatting. For this reason, text cannot be scanned or “snipped”.
Please use a WORD document and simply type your text and questions in Times New Roman or Cambria font 12 and include your request for lines or special effects (e.g. weather map, grid, multiple choice boxes, and for
Listening items: sound effects such as phone ringing or Ad jingle).
Importantly, we ask that you do not use commonly used resources like text-books or readily available magazines or newspapers such as Phosphore, Chez Nous or Le petit journal.
We need contributions for ALL sections for the following exams:
Yr 11 Preliminary Continuers, Yr 12 Beginners HSC, Yr 12 Continuers HSC, Yr 12 Extension
We cannot create these examinations without your input so please get your creative juices flowing.
Kindly submit your contributions before FEBRUARY 15th. We have a much tighter time frame this year due to production constraints. (See below)
As soon as your contribution is ready, please email it to both Judith at Vrachnas@optusnet.com.au and Jacquie and Annabel at: president@naft.org.au
Please remember that you will need to be a financial member of NAFT for 2017.
(Go to www.naft.org.au and then click the JOIN button at the top of the page.)
As explained at the Annual General Conference and in the newsletter that followed, due to increased costs of the Bac Blanc, and a proposed change to electronic distribution of the examinations, contributors to the exam will no longer be able to get a free copy. Schools will need to purchase the examinations. A further information letter will be sent out about this. As this is an Accredited workshop with BOSTES you will receive this valuable credential as well as the NAFT vouchers that recognise your contribution.
If you have any queries about this, please contact us at the above emails.
Merci d’avance,
Judith, Jacquie & Annabel - Bac Blanc Coordinators 2017
