Hurstville South PS is looking for a permanent Chinese Community Language Teacher.
Position Information
Hurstville South Public School has a current K-6 enrolment of 490 students with 20 classes. Of the student population, 89% has a Language Background Other than English of which 52% is of Chinese Language Background. The school and community are committed to quality teaching within an inclusive and supported teaching and learning environment. The school has outstanding technology programs with a one to one iPad program for all students from Year 2 to Year 6. Major focus areas have been implemented to provide staff with the skills and knowledge to continuously improve student outcomes in literacy, numeracy and student wellbeing. The school has a dedicated staff that is a good mix of highly experienced to early career teachers with a very supportive community.

    Community Languages Program K-6

    There are 30 languages taught through this program. Arabic, Auslan, Assyrian, Bengali, Chinese, Dari, French, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Khmer, Korean, Macedonian, Maori, Nepali, Persian, Punjabi, Russian, Samoan, Serbian, Spanish, Tamil, Telugu, Tongan, Turkish, Urdu and Vietnamese.
