Final - Community Languages Teachers Test (CLTT) - June 2017

The final CLTT for the year will be offered on 15th June 2017. It will then be discontinued through the UNSW and the department will be looking to find another provider.

In order to gain approval for permanency as a community language teacher or a bilingual school teacher at the primary level, teachers must  have accreditation. Teachers are required to sit for the Community Language Teachers Test (CLTT) which is held at the University of NSW Institute of Languages (UNSWIL).
 
Teachers wanting to present for the test are required to send an email to the Teacher Recruitment section of the Department at Additional.Approval@det.nsw.edu.au
 
Teachers need to include  personal details (full name, employee ID number, current address, contact number, email address) and the language you wish to sit in the CLTT.
 
All teachers are encouraged to sit for the CLTT at UNSW before it is discontinued.

2017 Data Collection - K-6 Languages Programs

All primary language programs will need to provide their data for the Language Program at their school. The data collection opened on Monday 15th May 2017. Please ensure that your teacher and student data is up to date before the collection closes on the 26 May 2017.

  • Schools with no data for the PLOTE collection will still need to sign off a "NIL RETURN" on the website.

  • The data should be submitted via the online Schools Data Collection Website. All necessary instructions are available from the website.

Establishing a Russian Teachers' Network

Maria Lobytsyna from the NSW School of Languages (formerly Open HS) is interested in establishing a cross-sectoral K-12 Russian Teachers’ Network. 

The NSW School of Languages is a NSW Department of Education school that offers Stage 6 Russian Continuers through distance education. The course is open to students in both government and non-government schools. For more information about enrolment in a NSW School of Languages course, please go to www.nswschoollang.schools.nsw.edu.au/enrolment. 

If you are interested in being part of a mutually supportive teachers' network, please email Maria directly with your name, school name and suburb and some details about the classes you teach.

    There are 30 languages taught through this program. Arabic, Auslan, Assyrian, Bengali, Chinese, Dari, French, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Khmer, Korean, Macedonian, Maori, Nepali, Persian, Punjabi, Russian, Samoan, Serbian, Spanish, Tamil, Telugu, Tongan, Turkish, Urdu and Vietnamese.
