We have just published new resources for Stage 5 Chinese on our website, based around the Chinese game show, ‘If You are the One’. You will find a sample unit of work, sample assessment task (with marking guidelines) and an updated scope and sequence. Learning more about others can lead to establishing and nurturing new friendships and relationships. In this unit, students learn to describe physical appearance, character and personality traits of themselves and others to establish a rapport and build connections in different ways with various people. Students also explore values and attitudes relating to beauty and dating in China, in the context of one of its popular shows. We have revamped the practice speaking questions from the old HSC Online site, for Chinese Continuers. Sorted by topic, this is a great document to give your students, so they can prepare for the upcoming oral examination.
It's available from the Chinese Continuers section of our website. Students can experience hands-on Chinese cooking at your school, hosted by Piatto Perfetto, Language and Cooking with Luca. Students will be involved in creating and eating Chinese dumplings and san choy bow.
